Growing up to 2 meters in length, the desert monitor is one of the most impressive reptiles in Egypt. It feeds on insects, small mammals, and even snakes.
Where to spot them: White Desert, Sinai, and rocky plateaus
Fun fact: Despite their size, they can run surprisingly fast when threatened.
5. Nubian Ibex – Mountain Acrobat
Though rare, the Nubian Ibex can be spotted in Egypt’s rugged mountains and cliffs. With their magnificent curved horns and sure-footed agility, they’re a sight to behold.
