Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Depart from Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and towering baobab trees. The park is a haven for diverse wildlife, including lions, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest. Spend the day exploring the park’s unique landscapes and river valleys where animals gather during the dry season.

In the evening, head to your campsite located inside or near the park for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of nature.

Day 2: Journey to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, travel through the beautiful highlands of Karatu and into the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s most celebrated wildlife sanctuary. Along the way, enjoy scenic views and visit a traditional Maasai village (optional) to experience local culture.

Arrive in Serengeti by afternoon for your first game drive in the endless plains, home to the Big Five and countless other species. Camp overnight in the central Serengeti area and enjoy dinner beneath a starlit sky.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti

Spend the full day exploring Serengeti’s vast plains. Depending on the season, you may witness parts of the Great Migration, herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles moving in search of greener pastures.

Your guide will lead you to the best areas for spotting lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and giraffes. Return to camp in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and a good night’s rest.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Serengeti before heading toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you might stop at the Olduvai Gorge (optional), an archaeological site known as the “Cradle of Mankind.”

Reach your campsite near the crater rim by late afternoon. From this vantage point, enjoy stunning views of the Ngorongoro Crater while your dinner is prepared at camp.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife areas. The crater’s floor is home to an incredible concentration of animals, including lions, elephants, hippos, buffalo, and the rare black rhino.

Spend the day exploring the crater’s diverse habitats before returning to the top in the late afternoon. Later, drive to Lake Manyara area for dinner and an overnight stay at the campsite.

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park and Return to Arusha

After breakfast, head to Lake Manyara National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions and colorful flocks of flamingos. Enjoy a morning game drive through the park’s forests and along the lake shore. Spot elephants, hippos, giraffes, and hundreds of bird species.

In the afternoon, drive back to Arusha, marking the end of your 6-Day Northern Tanzania Camping Adventure filled with unforgettable wildlife moments and scenic beauty.
